Propagandhi caught their big break in 1992 when they opened for the Punk band NOFX. After hearing the band's cover version of Cheap Trick's "I Want You to Want Me," NOFX singer Fat Mike decided he needed to sign Propagandhi to his Fat Wreck Chords label immediately.
In the mid '90s, John K. Sampson from The Weakerthans played bass for Propagandhi for a short time. In 2012, Sampson took another giant leap in his musical career by releasing Provincial, his first solo album.
In 1996, Propagandhi released an album called Less Talk, More Rock in response to fans who told them they had a tendency to go off on elaborate political rants during their live shows. Part of the proceeds from the album's sales went to AK Press, an outspoken anarchist publishing company.
