This song is about some people lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong knew when he lived in San Francisco.

In the song, bassist Mike Dirnt played the bass and farfisa (instrument in the beginning), drummer Tre' Cool played accordion, percussion (bells, bronze drum) and drums, and Billie Joe Armstrong played mandolin and rhythm/lead guitar. The rest was played by Jason White and Green Day's background band.
