Rod Wave's first single since dropping his Soulfly album in March 2021 finds him updating his fans. He's been taking a break after being on the road. I just finished my tour, what a wonderful feeling I got inside my bag and got out my feelings But he's still been grinding hard. Been working like I know the drought is coming Monday to Monday, Sunday to Sunday, you know I'm street running And also enjoying the spoils of his success. Notice that both of my wrists is flooded Wave released the mellow song on November 15, 2021.
The outro heavily interpolates the first verse of Plain White T's 2006 hit single "Hey There Delilah." The lyrics are identical, except Wave changes "Hey there Delilah" to "Hey there everybody." Rather than addressing a girl that's caught his attention, Wave is talking to everyone who is lonely. When they listen to him crooning this song, it's as if he's right by their side.
TnTXD and Harto Beats created the piano-based instrumentation. The two producers previously collaborated on Soulfly's title track. TnTXD contributed to 11 of the 28 tracks on the deluxe edition of Soulfly, including the single "Street Runner."
