Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Lose Your Head - CamelPhat Remix. By Songfacts®.

This euphoric song comes with a message, delivered by singer Hannah Reid, of feminine power within a toxic romance. "'Lose Your Head' is about power and control in relationships," she said. "The lyrics are quite dark, but I wanted to show the song in an upbeat way."

Reid wrote "Lose Your Head" with London Grammar bandmates Dot Major and Daniel Rothman, and with London producer George Fitzgerald (Katy B's "I Like You"). Reid said, "I had a chorus on the piano, and I played it to Dan who made this loop. We then worked with Dot and the whole thing grew and grew. The final touch was asking George Fitzgerald to be involved and he made it magical!"

London Grammar released "Lose Your Head" as the third single from Californian Soil on January 4, 2021. Reid has personal experience with misogyny in the music industry, and she said the album deals with themes of finding yourself, feminism and fame. "This record is about gaining possession of my own life," Reid wrote. "You imagine success will be amazing. Then you see it from the inside and ask, 'Why am I not controlling this thing? Why am I not allowed to be in control of it? And does that connect, in any way to being a woman? If so, how can I do that differently?'"
