This song is about some of the disgusting things lead singer Aaron Lewis saw at Staind concerts, like girls getting their clothes ripped off when they're crowd surfing. Lead singer Aaron Lewis was one of the first to look out for fans during concerts and stop performing if he saw something in the crowd he didn't like. Lewis was already married and went on to have three daughters.
Staind didn't perform at Woodstock '99, but they saw plenty of disrespectful and unruly behavior on the Family Values tour and other shows. Fred Durst, who mentored Staind and helped get them signed to a major label, was one of the biggest instigators at Woodstock, where groping and rioting were rampant.
Aaron Lewis gets screamo on much of this song, but you can hear a much more restrained, acoustic version on Staind's MTV Unplugged special from 2002.
