Stick to the Status Quo

This song is performed in the Disney Channel movie High School Musical when Troy and Gabriella get callbacks for the winter musical. The student begin sharing their secret passions: Zeke likes to bake, Martha loves Hip-Hop, etc. As they share these dreams there is a group of students who insist that they stick to the status quo, which means not to change ("Status Quo" is a Latin phrase meaning "as things were before"). The message is that people will usually tell you to stay the same and play it safe, and it's up to you to follow your dreams.
