This is the opening track and lead single from English Pop-Punk band You Me At Six's third studio album, Sinners Never Sleep. The album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Garth Richardson, known for his production work with Biffy Clyro, Funeral For A Friend and Rage Against The Machine. The single was released on September 25, 2011.
Vocalist Josh Franceschi told Kerrang! magazine about the song: "We wanted to lure people into the record with something that still has the essence of You Me At Six, but it also indicates where the record is going. This song's not about anything, I just pieced the songs together because I like the way the lyrics flow."
This was the first song the band wrote for Sinners Never Sleep. Bassist Matt Barnes recalled to This is Fake DIY: "We were just jamming and Josh said, "Play that again." [laughs] I played it again, and again, and wrote a song around it. Hey presto! That's how we write: we don't really have a strict writing regime. Literally, every song that we've written has been different. Sometimes, someone will write a lot for it; sometimes, everyone will write tiny little bits and everything comes together. That's just how that one came together, really."
