The lead single from The Ride finds Van McCann telling the heartening tale of a rising rocker smitten by a girl. So important is she to him that he races through his soundcheck just so he can see his love during her short break.
McCann told The Sun about the writing of the songs for The Ride: He said: "Everything was written around people's movement and their singing. When I was writing and recording I'd be imagining 60,000 people bouncing and singing along, so the tempo needed to be perfect. We've always written songs and made albums to play live, not to win awards or get on the radio. That is just a perk to the job. If that happens too, then great."
