Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Boston Square. By Songfacts®.

Deaf Havana are an English alternative rock band from Hunstanton and King's Lynn in the English county of Norfolk. This is the lead single from their third album Old Souls.

The song acts as a sequel to a track from Deaf Havana's previous release, Worthless Liars. Frontman James Veck Gilod explained to Kerrang! magazine: "We had a song on that record called 'Hunstanton Pier,' which mentioned a guy called Phil. 'Boston Square' is entirely about him. We grew up with him and played in bands with him, but he took his own life two years ago. I thought he deserved his own song. Boston Square is an area of Hunstanton where we'd skateboard and drink."

The song's music clip won Video Of the Year at the 2014 Kerrang! Awards.
