Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about The House That Heaven Built. By Songfacts®.

This head banger is the lead single from the Canadian Indie Rock duo Japandroids' sophomore album Celebration Rock. "It is, for lack of better word, the most massive thing that we've done," guitarist Brian King, told Rolling Stone. "When we set out to record this record, we made a very conscious decision to not really change the formula…I think we all just felt really confident that if we went in and did basically the same thing that we did on (debut album) Post-Nothing or on our singles, that we would inherently come out with something that was a lot bigger and better in every sort of way."

The song's music video was inspired by a classic '80s hard rock clip. "Our music video is based on 'Paradise City' by Guns N' Roses," King explained to Pitchfork. "When he [director Jim Larson] wanted direction I said, 'That's what I want it to be like.' And it sort of is, in a way. Maybe the next video we can make kind of our version of the 'Estranged' music video."

This was chosen as the Best Song of 2012 by the editors of Spinner and AOL Music. They said it contains, "every necessary ingredient for a great rock 'n' roll song: Loud guitars, a shout-along hook and a 'screw it all, we're gonna be all right' attitude."
