Beyoncé initially recorded the song for her 4 album but thought it would be a better fit as a duet with Mary. "I didn't get a chance to work with Beyoncé in person. She gave the song to me, it had her complete full vocal on it," she explained to That Grape Juice. "When her people gave it to me, I asked, 'Are you really giving me this record?' They said 'Yes.' I was like, 'OK, what do you want me to do with Beyoncé's vocals?' They were like, 'She wants to stay on the record.' That's how I got that record -- she wanted to be on a duet with me."

This is featured on Blige's 10th studio album, which also boasts collaborations with Nas ("Feel Inside"), Drake ("Mr. Wrong"), Rick Ross ("Why"), and Busta Rhymes ("Next Level").
