Interesting facts and trivia about Cathedral Song. By Songfacts®.

In the July 2, 1988 issue of Melody Maker, John Wilde described this as "very Van Morrison circa Veedon Fleece, a song about longing." Songs about or inspired by cathedrals are relatively rare, the most obvious being "Winchester Cathedral," although Al Stewart also found inspiration in the structure in his uptempo "Gethsemane, Again."

"Cathedral Song" was the third single from Tanita Tikarum's debut album, Ancient Heart. It was released in both 7-inch and 12-inch formats including as an EP.
