When Louisiana rapper and Vine star Tokyo Vanity first heard this song, she threatened to sue Young Thug for copyright infringement, claiming he'd pilfered the hook of her cut "That's My Best Friend." However unlike, Tokyo Vanity, whose best friend is apparently a fellow Vine artist named Summerella, Thugger is talking here about himself.
Young Thug and his crew reportedly attempted to get Tokyo Vanity in the song's Be El Be-directed video as a nod to her inspiration of the song's chorus, but she refused.
Be El Be explained the video's inspiration to Fader magazine: "[Young Thug is] his own butler, if he's catching himself with himself, making love to himself, if he's in the bathroom getting changed and it's just him and him - it's showing his best friend is himself. That self-esteem! He's a very stylish young man, so I would say that the inside meaning of that is that he is his own best friend."
