Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about New World Order - Demo. By Songfacts®.

This track dates back to Megadeth's Clash Of The Titans tour in 1991. The band made a demo for Countdown To Extinction, but decided it wasn't finished sufficiently. The song sat on the shelf for 13 years until it was included as a bonus track on the 2004 remixed and remastered Youthanasia record.

It was Megadeth drummer Shawn Drover who pushed for the song to be included on TH1RT3EN. Bassist Dave Ellefson told MusicRadar.com: "Of all the songs that have never been officially released as formal master recordings, he really thought it was ready." He added: "It's such an old-school thrash tune. We re-recorded it, and I think we improved the outro section for the solos. Dave [Mustaine] updated some parts and made them more violent. It's so cool! [laughs] Here we are, 20 years later, finally getting the song right and made into a master recording."
