Millennium Of The Blind

This song was originally penned by frontman Dave Mustaine and guitarist Marty Friedman in the early 1990s. A demo was made, but it never made it onto a record until it was included as a bonus track on the 2004 remixed and remastered Youthanasia record. In 2011, Mustaine and producer Johnny K took the few minutes of the tune that were on tape, developed it and made it into a full-length song, which was included on their TH1RT3EN album. Bass player Dave Ellefson commented to MusicRadar.com: "I'm glad they took the time with it, because it always had the startings of greatness, but it was never nurtured properly. Now it's lived up to its promise.A lot of our stuff has to sit for a while. A great idea is a great idea, and if you come back to it, there's gotta be a reason. I'm glad this song's time has finally come."

According to the Youthanasia re-release liner notes, Mustaine came up with the lyrics after watching the movie, Highlander.
