Lyrically, this song analyzes the sense of frustration of Bullet vocalist Matt Tuck as his relationship with his wife, Charlotte, disintegrates. The anguished singer finally comes to the realization that there's nothing more he can do to save the marriage. The pair, who had a son together, Evann, filed for divorce in early 2016. I know these words They won't mean anything I hope it hurts You've only got yourself to blame And I can't take this anymore I'm over it The breakdown of his marriage had a huge effect on Tuck and the emotional turmoil of breaking up his family led to a crippling depression. He explained to Louder Sound: "That's a song based on our frustration about what was going on a couple of years ago with everything. It's about the frustration of wanting to get through hard times, basically."
The couple have since reconciled. "Life throws you curveballs but even after a long time apart we managed to bring it together," Tuck told The Independent in 2021. "I'm so proud of us – we've never been happier."
