Symere Woods is a Philadelphia rapper who uses the performing name of Lil Uzi Vert. His rapid-fire rapping style inspired the "Uzi" in his name. "Some guy was just like 'you rap fast, man," he told Vibe. "Like a little machine gun' and from that moment I was Lil Uzi."
This was released as Vert's debut single on February 6, 2016. If finds the rapper boasting about the fruits of his labors, which he's earned through his hard graft.
The song was produced by Atlanta legend DJ Don Cannon (Jeezy's "Circulate", Estelle's "Break My Heart") along with young Philly beatmaker Maaly Raw. DJ Cannon first heard Uzi Vert on the radio while driving through Philadelphia. "He called my phone," the rapper recalled. "He followed me on Twitter."
