Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about 333. By Songfacts®.

Hellyeah drummer Vinnie Paul died on June 22, 2018 as a result of coronary artery disease. Before his passing, the stickman had laid down the drum tracks for Hellyeah's sixth album at The Hideout recording studio in Las Vegas. This characteristically dynamic number was released as the set's lead single.

The title of this thrashing song is a play on 666 being the sign of the devil – 333 being half evil. Vinnie Paul came up with the idea but had passed away before singer Chad Gray was ready to write the lyrics. He explained: "The lyrics embrace and recognize the feelings that most metal fans have. Being treated like outcasts and being judged for the way we look or dress. It's a reminder to all the metal fans that no matter what, you will always have a place in our worldwide metal community. With that said... Welcome to the family! We're all the root of half-evil-reppin' 333!"

The song's music video was filmed in part on March 1, 2019 at Duff's metal bar in Brooklyn, New York, The clip, which fittingly lasts exactly three minutes and 33 seconds, ends with a dedication to Paul.
