This song is about leaving a part of your life behind and looking forward, without trying to predict what will happen. The singer doesn't know what's going to happen ("feeling my way through the dark"), and at first she wants to know what the future holds ("Trying to find a light on somewhere"). But then she realizes it's just better to take things as they come and see what will happen ("I'm finding I've fallen in love with the dark").
Tunstall wrote this with Martin Terefe, who also produced the track. Other artists Terefe has collaborated with include Jason Mraz, Jamie Cullum and Train.
