Long before the global warming debate, Julian Lennon released this song about the destruction of the environment and how we as a people needed to do our part to protect it. Lennon would pursue this agenda, forming The White Feather Foundation to take on environmental issues and help in the distribution of clean water.
Lennon wrote this song with Mark Spiro, who would later co-write tracks for Bad English ("Straight To Your Heart"), Giant ("I'll See You In My Dreams"), and John Waite ("How Did I Get By Without You?"). Leslie Spiro (possibly Mark's wife) is also credited on the track - her only composer credit we could find.
George Harrison was supposed to help Julian on the slide guitar for the song, but wasn't able to make it because he had to attend to Eric Clapton's son's funeral. Instead, George sent Julian the samples.
