Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Queen Of Torture. By Songfacts®.

This was the B-side of "Blind Eye," the debut single of Wishbone Ash. It was released in February 1971, and like most Ash singles since, it bombed. Earlier, the band played this song on their television debut, on BBC2's Disco 2 program on Saturday, December 5, 1970. In the then-current edition of the Radio Times, John Peel said of their music it is "original, exciting and beautifully played."

According to the band's official biography Blowin' Free, the inspiration for the song is revealed as a young lady named Sylvie, a former girlfriend of guitarist Ted Turner, and the rest of the band apparently. She was said to be "into some very weird sexual trips".
