Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Forever. By Songfacts®.

This song was originally a 30-second jingle for Wrigley's Doublemint gum, which Brown had been commissioned by an advertising company to write. The R&B star penned it in around half an hour then recorded both the jingle and the extended song in February 2008, during a recording session that was paid for by the gum company. The full song, which features the gum's tagline "Double your pleasure, double your fun" in the chorus, was then released as a single and included on the expanded version of his Exclusive album; it was one of four new songs on the set.

This was produced by Polow da Don. Among the other tracks he has produced are "London Bridge" for Fergie, "Party People" for Nelly and "Love in This Club" for Usher.

This was the follow up to "With You." Originally it was planned for the Kanye West-featuring "Down," to be released as the next single but the new material won out. Brown and his songwriting team, the Graffiti Artists, wrote the song. He recalled to MTV Base: "We went into the studio, Polow gave me a beat, and I just started writing. His record is more of a European, techno, house-type feel. We wanted to give it that other side of crossover, and go a little bit to that pop realm. Hopefully, [I'll] be the Prince of Pop. I don't want to say I'm the King; I just hopefully can be the Prince of Pop."
