Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about The Cure. By Songfacts®.

Like "Hell" and "Don't Rush," this song is also written about the environs of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, the drug-plagued zone where Tegan lives. The Canadian singer-songwriter told The Canadian Press that she saw parallels between the behaviour of addicts and her own lovestruck "insanity," and used that metaphor to write the three songs. "I wanted to stand on the balcony of my neighbourhood and scream at everybody: 'Stop smoking crack! Stop falling in love!"' Tegan said with a laugh.
