This is the first single from Adam Lambert's second album, Trespassing. The mid tempo piano ballad was written by Claude Kelly and produced by Dr. Luke. The two hitmakers previously collaborated on Lambert's hit single "For Your Entertainment." It was released on December 20, 2011.
The song finds Lambert belting vocals about a lover who knows him better than he knows himself. "Cause if I wanted to go I would have gone by now/ But I really need you near me to/ Keep my mind off the edge," the gay glam rocker sings.
Lambert served as an executive producer on Trespassing, which he said takes his fans on, "an exciting journey through the past two years" of his life. The American Idol runner-up added, "It's been a transformative period and I really wanted to make music from what I've experienced. All these songs honestly explore the ups and downs of my reality."
