"Glue Song" is a soft and sweet romantic ballad where Beabadoobee expresses the joy of discovering a special person and developing a strong bond with them. Over a laid-back drumbeat, smooth strings and whimsical trumpet, Bea sings of the exhilarating feeling of falling head in heels in love. Using glue as a metaphor for love, she paints a picture of two people who have grown deeply attached to one another, becoming inseparable in a positive and uplifting way.
Bea penned the heartfelt "Glue Song" from the back seat of cars and in transit while touring throughout Asia and Australia. As the first love song she's written for her new partner, photographer Jacob Erland, the track holds a special place in her heart. In the past, Bea's songwriting has often leaned towards melancholic themes, even if the sound didn't necessarily reflect it. However, with "Glue Song," she shares her happiness and positive state of mind, a fresh experience for her. Together with her guitarist and producer Jacob Bigden, they recorded the song in his home studio, incorporating trumpet and string arrangements to round out the track.
Beabadoobee performed "Glue Song" for the first time live during her concert in Brooklyn, New York, on October 28, 2022, during her Beatopia Tour. She released it as a single on February 14, 2023 – Valentine's Day.
