Beatrice Kristi Ilejay Laus, known professionally as Beabadoobee, is a Filipino-British singer-songwriter born in Iloilo City, Philippines. She moved to London with her family at age 3.

Growing up in London, Beabadoobee felt like an outsider but found solace in music and art. She connected deeply with alternative and grunge music, influences that would shape her musical style.

She attended a Catholic all-girls school but struggled academically and socially, leading to her expulsion at 17. This period of uncertainty spurred her to focus on songwriting as an outlet for her emotions.
