Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about a million bucks on a queen motel bed. By Songfacts®.

This song doesn't make a lot of sense, but it's not supposed to. The song is Hutchinson's ode to marijuana, which he discovered later in life. It took him a while to figure out how to enjoy it properly, but it became an important part of his self-medication routine.

Much of the album deals with the ups and downs of chemical happiness; Hutchinson has battled depression his whole life and started taking Prozac when he began work on it. Pot is another way he regulates. "I enjoy marijuana as a way to decompress and appreciate the little details of life that I've gotten good at overlooking," he explained. "These lyrics are a meditation on taking the judgment out of modern happiness. If it's pills, if it's drugs, if it's exercise - you've gotta seize happiness and contentment however you can get it in these modern times."

The line, "The wolfman told me to be careful, love can bite" is a nod to "Werewolves Of London" by Warren Zevon.
