Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Apple Blossom - Remixed. By Songfacts®.

With just two members, The White Stripes kept it simple in their early years, with stripped-down, blues-inflected songs typically written by Jack White. "Apple Blossom," from their second album, De Stijl, fits this description. The song has no chorus, which lets Jack advance the story: a girl he likes has been hurt by a man who doesn't deserve her, and he tries to comfort her. As the song builds, so do his ambitions, and by the last lines, he's all in: I'll fall in love with you I think I'll marry you It's not clear what the "Apple Blossom" thinks of this guy, but there's a good chance she finds him more than a little creepy.

This was the first song The White Stripes performed on television. They played it when they appeared on the Detroit Public Television series Backstage Pass in 2000.

Jack White has a lot of affection for this song, and often played it live with both The White Stripes and as a solo act.
