Lloyd spoke to Billboard magazine about this song prior to its release. She explained it represents some of the adult themes on her Sorry I'm Late album. "Basically, I talk about the fact that the guy is not giving me exactly what I want - and when people listen to it, they'll understand exactly what I mean," she said. "It's a touchy one, because, I played it to my mom and… she was shocked. So I'm a bit nervous."
