Good As Gold

In this song of encouragement, Greyson Chance is telling himself that he's "good as gold": When you're tied up By the past you hold You got to know That you are good as gold "'Good As Gold' is very, very close to me," he said. "'You can do this.' It's about a lot of things but mainly it symbolizes how I've grown and how far I've come."

Chance was just 20 years old when he released this song, but already an 8-year veteran of the music industry. He became a YouTube star in 2010 when he was 12, and appeared that year on The Ellen DeGeneres Show; the host became his mentor and label boss. "Good As Gold" he wrote while a student at the University of Tulsa, drawing inspiration from the challenges he faced after finding fame at such a young age.
