This was one of two successful songs by Loggins to come out of an unsuccessful movie. This one was from Over The Top, starring Sylvester Stallone as an arm wrestler. Loggins also sang "Nobody's Fool" from Caddyshack II, a movie that was a critical and commercial disaster. Both songs appeared on Loggins' sixth solo album, Back To Avalon.
This was written by Giorgio Moroder and Tom Whitlock, who wrote the hit Top Gun theme, "Danger Zone," which was also performed by Loggins.
Aside from peaking at #11 on the Hot 100, this reached #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart. It remained his highest entry on the latter tally until 1996 when "For The First Time," from the movie One Fine Day, went to #1.
