Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Too Far Gone. By Songfacts®.

For The All-American Rejects first album, their 18-year-old lead singer/lyricist came up with a lot of songs about the complexities of a difficult breakup, which were inspired by an old girlfriend. He is particularly conflicted on this track, where alternates between begging her to break up because he can't take the pain anymore, and loving her too much to leave her. As with all of their songs, Ritter wrote it with their guitarist, Nick Wheeler.

This song first appeared on a 2001 demo CD the band put together called Same Girl, New Songs. It was one of 5 tracks that carried over to their first album.
