"Powerglide" is a track from Rae Sremmurd's SremmLife 3 triple-disc album. The song was released on March 1, 2018 alongside two other singles from the record - Swae Lee's "Hurt to Look" and Slim Jxmmi's "Brxnks Truck" - giving fans one song from each of the project's three sides. All three tunes were recorded with their longtime collaborator, Mike WiLL Made-It.
The song title refers to the Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission designed by General Motors. I was sliding in the Lamb' with the powerglide Slime green paint, peanut butter inside Swae Lee's Lamborghini is outfitted with a Powerglide transmission. Although available primarily on Chevrolet from 1950 to 1973, Powerglide still has a strong following in drag racing due to its strength and simplicity.
The track samples Three 6 Mafia's classic "Side To Side" and features Juicy J. The Mafia group member previously worked with the Rae Sremmurd duo on "Shake It Fast" and "Already."
