All-American Rejects lead singer Tyson Ritter says that this song is "About being a slave to love, to where your body just goes... it doesn't matter because your heart wants what it wants." He also described this piano-driven number as having, "T. Rex women on the chorus."
This song came out of a cabin trip that vocalist Tyson Ritter and guitarist Nick Wheeler took in Rabun County, Georgia, where Deliverance was filmed. During the fortnight that the pair spent in close quarters, they wrote four songs of which both this and "Damn Girl" ended up on When the World Comes Down. When we spoke with Wheeler in 2012, he explained, "We just like to get out of our comfort zone. And some people might think, Oh, you get to travel and see stuff when you write. Well, no. We go to these places that we're unfamiliar with just so we can draw from what we see out the window. We don't let ourselves out of the house much, we actually buckle down and go try to work."
