This song is a tribute to the '50s and '60s blonde bombshell actress Jayne Mansfield (mother of Law And Order star Mariska Hartigay). She, along with two other adults, was killed in a grisly car accident on the way to New Olreans for a gig. The song includes Manfield's famous catch phrase "divoon."
"Kiss Them For Me" is the title of a 1957 movie that Mansfield starred in with Cary Grant.
In the US, this was the only Top 40 hit for Siouxsie and the Banshees. They fared much better in the UK.
