This was sixth single from the soundtrack album for the third series of the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana.
The song was taken from a special extra length episode, which was also titled He Could Be the One. In the story line Hannah Montana starts having feelings for her band mate Jesse, and gets herself confused as she is still dating Jake Ryan. Robby helps Miley to listen to her heart and chose the guy who could "be the one."
The song debuted at #10 in the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Miley Cyrus' first Top Ten entry as Hannah Montana.
