The bass line of the song was heavily inspired by Donna Summer's "I Feel Love." The song opened Madonna's 2006 Confessions Tour, performed as the first half of a medley with... "I Feel Love."

This song was written and produced by Madonna and Mirwais Ahmadzai. Known for his French-style progressive electronic dance music, Mirwais first worked with the Material Girl in 2000 for her eighth studio album, Music. She intended to partner with him again for this entire album, but turned to British electronic musician Stuart Price when she was unhappy with the results.
