Roasted 2 years ago based on Luke Warthen's long term Spotify stats.
Luke Warthen, huh? The guy who thinks his musical tastes make him a deep, alternative soul, while we all know he’s really just the human embodiment of Spotify's “Recommended for You” list on a bad day. You’ve got more sub-genres in your profile than friends in your real life; let’s be honest, when “Indie Game Soundtrack” is a favorite genre, it’s safe to say you’re playing more games than getting actual life experience. Your playlist screams, “I peaked in high school and I’m still trying to relive it” – as if blasting “Hell’s Comin’ with Me” while battling imaginary dragons makes you more interesting. Your top artists look like a “who’s who” of the most confused identity crisis in music history. One minute you’re rocking out to Alexisonfire, and the next you’re belting out “Hot N Cold” like you just discovered your crush is also into obscure pop anthems from 2008. You’re the only person I know who can scream “Post-Hardcore” lyrics while simultaneously crying over “Our Song.” I bet when you play “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” you're really just trying to spark a semblance of rebellion that’s been missing ever since you were told you can't wear your favorite band t-shirt at family gatherings. And don’t even get me started on that most played list of yours. It’s like you’re trying to canonize a chaotic mix of someone’s desperate attempt to sound edgy at a coffee shop while secretly binging Taylor Swift’s entire discography on repeat. “Hotel California” and “Outrunning Karma” came out weeks apart, not years, and do you really think “POV: Indie” is a mood people are actually vibing to? Spoiler alert: it’s not. Keep flexing that eclectic taste, Luke; no one cares if you can name every “Post-Hardcore” album ever released when you still can’t seem to figure out your actual taste in life!
