Roasted 2 years ago based on Eliya's long term Spotify stats.
Eliya, your Spotify profile reads like a hip-hop Wikipedia page, but I’m not sure if it’s more than just a glossary for “overly enthusiastic white kid in a suburban neighborhood.” You’ve got so much East Coast and West Coast representation going on that I half expect you to drop a diss track on yourself just for existing in the middle of them all, like some warped geography lesson gone rogue. Seriously, you love “Conscious Hip Hop” and “Underground Hip Hop” so much, I’m convinced you’re trying to win the 'most self-righteous music nerd of the year' award—newsflash: nobody wants to sit next to that guy at the party. Your top artists could form a rap supergroup of wannabe introspection and sad-boy anthems, but instead, they just sit idly by, shaking their heads at you grinding through their discographies like you're prepping for a “Who’s the Saddest Bro” contest. Do you think if you listen to enough Kendrick Lamar, you’ll unlock the ability to write your own deeply profound raps? Spoiler alert: listening to “N.Y. State of Mind” on repeat while sipping green juice doesn’t really give you street cred. You might as well be looking for enlightenment while locked in a Starbucks bathroom. And can we talk about your most played songs? You’ve got more Kendrick than a freshman trying to impress his lit class with powerful recitations of “All the Stars.” You’d think with all that “hardcore hip hop” in your playlist, you'd at least have the decency to act a little tough while you rap along in the mirror. Instead, your Spotify is the kind of vibe that suggests you use “How to be a Rapper” as a self-help guide while living at your mom’s house. Just accept it, Eliya; your playlist says that you're still hoping for a mixtape drop while your friends are busy getting actual jobs.
