They gained attention by opening for Lil' Bow Wow on his 2001 summer tour. They also appeared in his video for "Ghetto Girls."
Formed in Los Angeles, they were originally called Y2K, a term that was big at the turn of the millennium. They decided the "Y" didn't make any sense, so they went through the alphabet and settled on "B," saying the name stood for "Boys Of The New Millennium."
Omarion was the last to join the group. His post-B2K solo career was most successful, with his first two albums, O and 21, going to #1 in the US.
