Two of their longtime members, Chuck Panozzo (bass) and John Panozzo (drums) were twin brothers. John died in 1996 from cirrhosis of the liver, brought on by his chronic alcoholism.
Most critics trashed Styx, giving every release a good flogging. At one point, they stopped sending out review copies, issuing a statement that read, "The band doesn't enjoy being torn apart in print and we're not going to help them do it."
