This is the title track of Young The Giant's third studio album. Frontman Sameer Gadhia, whose family emigrated from India, told Rolling Stone, tackling the subjects on Home of the Strange was a "very natural thing" for the band. "We wanted to say more about who we are - we're all first-generation Americans or immigrants ourselves," explained Gadhia. "We consider ourselves to be Americans, but we're also tied to a lot of the belief structures of our forefathers." "This is a very strong American narrative, which hasn't been discussed too much - the Asian American story, someone who's coming here that's not part of the previously held binary of what's American society," he continued. "It's been less than 100 years since people from India moved to America, so it's still pretty fresh."
