The lead single from YG's Still Krazy album is the rapper's first release following an incident when he was shot in the hip. He describes the incident during his rhymes: I'm the only one that's about what he say The only one that got hit and was walking the same day I tried to pop first, got popped back Got hit in the hip, couldn't pop back. "I got shot one time. It was three bullet holes because it went in, went out and went back in again," YG told Billboard magazine. "It was not gang-related at all. It just happened out of the blue. We don't know who did it, we don't know why." "'Twist My Fingaz' is a statement record letting everybody know I'm back and still krazy!" YG said in a press release.
The song title references YG twisting his middle and ring fingers over each other to form a W. The Compton rapper does this to signify his gang affiliation (west side Bloods).
