Broward County, Florida native Antoine McColister is a rapper who is better known by his stage name Ace Hood. McColister attended Deerfield Beach High School and following a football injury in the start of 10th grade, began to seriously consider rapping as a career. DJ Khaled heard of the young rapper's reputation through the underground circuit and after getting him to rap outside the offices of a radio station, he made Ace his first signing on his label, We the Best. Just a few weeks later, Ace was inked to Def Jam.
McColister explained to MTV News that his nickname means he's a force to be reckoned with. "Every time you think of 'ace,' you think of 'one,'" he said. "I always took myself as an army within itself."
This Lex Luger produced track originally appeared on Ace's 2010 mixtape The Statement, before being chosen as the first official single off his third studio album, Blood, Sweat & Tears. The official remix features Rick Ross and Lil Wayne.
