Rhyming over delicate synths, Wale pays homage to three legends of southern hip-hop: Terrence "Scarface" Jordan, Rick Ross and Mario "Yo Gotti" Mims.
Wale explained how much Scarface meant to him when he was an aspiring artist during a live Genius annotation and listening event: "Anybody from DC, Maryland, Virginia knows what Scarface meant to us in the '90s and early 2000s. He used to perform with Backyard Band. He didn't just perform, he played the bass. That was big. I remember first seeing him when I was in middle school and he was playing with Backyard and I was just so blown away."
