Regarding his link up with the Illmatic spitter, Mill told The Boombox: "I always been a fan of Nas, my whole life. One time I saw him coming out of Club Liv [in Miami]. We both were wasted and he was just telling me about how he fu--ed with my music and you know, a couple months later, I contacted him and he came right to the studio, dropped it off and we put it together."
Nas explained the meaning of his closing couplet, "I made it so I'm chillin. Transparent ceiling now," to Rap Genius: "My world view changes the more I learn. I learn daily," he said. "Win some Lose some = the magnificent uncertainty … The beauty of life."
