This was written by Americans Jimmy Payne and Jim Glaser. Jimmy is a singer/songwriter based in Nashville and Jim Glaser was one time part of the famous country trio Tompall and the Glaser Brothers. Both Jimmy and Jim have also recorded the song which was a million seller for Gary Puckett & the Union Gap.
