Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Pavlov's Bell. By Songfacts®.

Featuring a more uptempo, upbeat sound than Mann usually employs, this song has a driving energy behind it. The title is a reference to the psychologist Ivan Pavlov, famous for his experiments proving that a stimulus linked to expectation could spur physiological reactions, ie, a dog associating the sound of a bell with being fed would eventually begin to salivate at the sound of the bell by itself.

The song was used on the long-running science-fiction/high school dramedy television program Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
