When Ariana Grande first dropped her "7 Rings" single and its accompanying video, fans immediately noted the similarities to 2 Chainz's 2011 song, "Spend It," and his Pretty Girls Like Trap Music cover art. Rather than getting caught up in a beef, the Georgia rapper met up with the pop starlet. Grande made it clear during their get-together that she's a fan of 2 Chainz, and that the "7 Rings" song and its video are an homage. The pair wound up collaborating on two tracks. First, Grande delivered a feel-good hook to this Rap or Go to the League track. Then, while he was still in the studio with the songstress, 2 Chainz rapped a guest verse for the remix of "7 Rings."
The R&B-tinged upbeat track finds 2 Chainz delivering a couple of loved-up verses about his girl who walks "like a model" and is shaped "like a bottle."
Grande's chorus about "ruling the world" with her beau impressed the Georgia rapper. "She opened up her mouth," he recalled to Genius, "and a damn angel came out and I was like, 'Yo, this little girl can sing!'"
