Brown told MTV News about the song's promo: "This video is fun. 'Freeze' is one of those songs that kind of reminds me of the '80s, with the visual effects and everything. It's one of the records that me and Pain got to collaborate on, just like 'Kiss Kiss.'"

T-Pain said in a press release that this song grew out of a conversation that he had with Chris Brown, where the latter was telling T-Pain how he finds women that can dance particularly attractive.
